Happy Birthday!
It's Gretel's b-day, and we even got a chance to talk! Things have been pretty busy for both of us so I was glad to wish her a Happy ______th Birthday.
You don't actually think that I would tell you how old Gret is?!?!?! C'mon, she's 6 months older than I am, and there's no way I'm going to let y'all know that I'm going to be _______. I tell you just about everything as it is.

happy b-day to her
Well, I can guess - you're "thirty something" and she is six months older. Hmm. Obviously it's her twentieth birthday, silly. ;-)
I guess that means she is 49.
I never understood why people are so shy about sharing their age. Isn't getting older better than the alternative? I say celebrate your life - with each year we live, we gain valuable experience that helps to develop who we are in our continual evolution.
rafi,
thanks
sleepless,
you're absolutely right

It's much better than the alternative... but my biological clock is ticking.
but my biological clock is ticking.
Eat a banana.
Hope it was happy!
Not sure what your biological clock ticking has to do with not sharing your age... I don't mean to be obnoxious, but it won't stop ticking just because you share your age. So embrace it, because fun things come with age, like one couple I know who in the past year turned 62 and now can ride NJ Transit for next to nothing. Sure there are frustrations with getting older (trust me, I feel it as I am approaching 30, have never been married, have no kids, and feel like I'm "behind" my peers from childhood in that regard), but there are joys too.
anon,
I'm not George!!
doc,
I hope it was too. Gretel deserves it!

My age reminds me that my biological clock is tick tick ticking away, but I'm still happy to be getting older... just imagine having to go in the opposite direction. ;)
